Scott Crone was first elected to East Gwillimbury Council in 2018. Scott is seeking a second term to continue the work he has been doing on behalf of the people of Ward 3.
Scott has twenty years of corporate business experience managing multi-million-dollar budgets and as a member of the executive team, shared responsibility for nearly half a billion dollars in capital and assets. Scott gained his corporate experience in the insurance industry. He started as an insurance agent and eventually worked his way up to Vice President of Underwriting & Distribution. In his roles he was responsible for business development, marketing, and profitable risk selection.
Born and raised in Mount Albert, Scott has called East Gwillimbury home for most of his life. Scott grew up on a farm and learned the value of hard work and community service early in life. His family goes back six generations in East Gwillimbury. His work experience literally spans from Main Street to Bay Street.
Prior to his successful council run, Scott was instrumental in attracting the DUCA Credit Union to Mount Albert.
In his role as councillor for Ward 3, Scott has served as council liaison the Economic Development Advisory Committee, the Chamber of Commerce, the Broadband Advisory Group and the North Union Hall.
Since 2016, Scott has been a volunteer board member for the Alzheimer’s Society of York Region. He is currently the board chair. He has also championed other local causes throughout the years.
In his spare time, Scott enjoys travel, movies, and volunteering for community organizations. Scott resides on the 9th Line, Mount Albert with his wife Saleena and daughter Kayla.
